Dr. Rajiv Bahl is the next Director General of the ICMR.

On Friday, Dr. Rajiv Bahl was selected for the dual roles of Director General of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and Secretary of the Department of Health Research for a duration of three years in each position.
Within the Department of Maternal Newborn Child and Adolescent Health and Ageing at the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva, Bahl is now serving as the Head of Research on Maternal, Newborn Child, and Adolescent Health cum-Newborn Unit Head.

On the same day that this news was made, Dr. M. Srinivas was given the position of director of the AIIMS in New Delhi.
In the meantime, on Friday, the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet, which is led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, selected Dr. M. Srinivas to take over as the new director of the famed All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) located in this city.
In accordance with a government directive dated September 23, Srinivas has been given a position that will last for either the next five years or until he reaches the age of 65 years, whichever comes first. When Srinivas was offered the position, he was serving as the Dean of the Employees State Insurance Company (ESIC) Hospital and Medical College in Sanathnagar in Hyderabad. This position was vacant when he was selected.
On Friday, Dr. Randeep Guleria’s time as head of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) came to an end. On March 28, 2017, Dr. Guleria started working in her new role as Director.
