Dear Editor,

In Nature, only humans seem to suffer from poverty and its ill-effects.

If anyone can eliminate poverty and ensure that it will not recur/relapse and also eliminate vices, then, perhaps one will be able to eliminate homeless and the ills associated with it. Otherwise trying to treat ill-effects of homelessness will be only a symptomatic treatment.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) counted around 582,000 Americans experiencing homelessness in 2022. That’s about 18 per 10,000 people in the US, up about 2,000 people from 2020.

Poverty, Homelessness, Vices are not sporadic: they are Endemic as well as Pandemic in Humans.
