Dear Editor, I cannot agree more with a lot of things that has been said. I work with the overseas medical graduates in GP training. While reflection is reflexive and skills honed by the local medical graduates from early in their life, it’s a completely new concept for the new commers. While we teach Gibbs cycle, talk about your feelings … Things like I feel humbled seeing this patient without context is very common. How much information is needed to play the game – so called feeding the monster only comes with life experience in this country and understanding the context and unsaid rules of UK medical practice. . I have used art to teach reflective skills but perhaps we need to rethink a different strategy for WPBA for this cohort of trainees!
