Dear Editor
This excellent synopsis has helped clear up some of my confusion. The paradox was that ASMR for various causes of death has fallen except for “Signs symptoms and ill-defined conditions” (1) whilst excess death counts for a wide range of causes have risen (2).
My concern was driven by the ( hopefully untrue ) fear that Covid-19 vaccination might be contributing to ongoing excess deaths. ONS have reassuringly demonstrated that all-cause ASMR is highest in the unvaccinated, compared to any vaccinated subset (3).
I would find it even more reassuring, to see the numerous weekly Excess deaths graphics, split between Vaccinated and Unvaccinated populations.
