National Health Executives hosted its last virtual event of the year, were we focused on NHS Estates and brought together a panel of inspirational speakers to discuss how the health sector can improve patient experience by focusing on NHS estates.
Positive Patient Experience can be directly linked to better clinical outcomes, including closer adherence to medication, reduced use of healthcare services, as well as being commonly used as an indicator for measuring the quality in healthcare. Estates and Facilities leaders have a huge part to play including ensuring the cleanliness of buildings, parking availability, access, and wayfinding.
In this panel we heard from leaders about what steps can be taken to continuously improve the patient experience and their satisfaction – which often has quite a large impact in the general public’s perception of value in the healthcare they are receiving.
Panellists:
- Elaine Cloutman-Green, Consultant Clinical Scientist in Infection Prevention and Control, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust
- Eleanor Walsh, Head of Patient Experience, Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
