MBBS, BDS Candidates Willing To Retain Seat Of Round 2 Need To Participate In Revised Extended Round 2: TN DME

Tamil Nadu: The candidates who wish to retain the seat of round 2 of online counselling need not participate in revised (extended) round 2 counselling for MBBS, and BDS courses, announces the Director of Medical Education (DME Tamil Nadu).

The last date of joining of candidates allotted / re – allotted in round 2 of online counselling and revised (extended) round 2 counselling is extended up to 3.00 pm on 9.12.2022.

Recently the schedule for revised (extended) round 2 counselling has been released for Government Quota- 92.5%, Government Quota- 7.5%, and Management Quota. The registration process ended today (7.12.2022) at 10:00 am. The results of revised round 2 for the Government (92.5% and 7.5%) quota and Management Quota will be published on the official website at 10:00 am on 8-12-2022.

50 seats are allotted for this revised (extended) round 2 counselling. Management Quota has 25 seats, Government Quota- 7.5% has 2 seats, and Government Quota has 23 seats allotted. All the seats are allotted to Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Medical College and Hospital, Perambalur.

Eligibility –

1. Indian nationals can apply for Tamil Nadu MBBS/BDS admission.

2. Non-residents of India (NRI) or Persons of Indian origin (PIO) are eligible for management/NRI quota seats.

3. Candidates 17 years or above are eligible as of 31st December 2022.

4. Candidates must pass class 12 with a minimum of 50% marks for the general category for Tamil Nadu MBBS 2022 admission. Students from SC/ST/OBC and PH categories need 40% and 45% marks in the class 12 examination.

5. Candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as core subjects in class 12.

The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) is being conducted by NTA for admission to undergraduate medical education, with the approval of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and MHRD. No other test is valid for admission to UG courses. This test is conducted once a year.

The Department of Medical Education plays a pivotal role in developing medical and para-medical personnel to cater to the state’s health needs. The department also has a role to play in establishing and maintaining well-equipped teaching institutions, which are the premier referral centres with state-of-the-art equipment and technology. Research is another area of activity for the Medical Education Department.
