Lucknow: In an unfortunate incident, a second-year MBBS student at the GS Medical College And Hospital in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in the hostel room.
On Saturday evening, the incident was informed to police that a student was found dead at the college. According to the police, the case appears to be suicide based on prima facie.
SP Deepak Bhukar informed Jagran that the deceased has been identified as a resident of Kanpur and was studying MBBS at GS Medical College, Pilkhuwa. She was staying in the hostel room of the college.
ANI tweeted the incident saying “Uttar Pradesh | MBBS student found dead at GS Medical College & Hospital in Hapur. Police said prima facie it appears that the woman student died allegedly by suicide.”

On the other hand, the Hapur police also took to Twitter and issued a video statement explaining the incident. Posting the video on the official handle, it said “Today, Pilkhuwa police station received information that a second-year MBBS student in GS Medical College had committed suicide by hanging herself. The site of the incident has been inspected by the higher officials and the forensic team and advance legal action is being taken. CO Pilkhuwa’s bite in this regard”.
The police are currently investigating the case and further details are awaited. The reason for the suicide is also unknown.
