Dear Editor,

On one hand there are people who do not get one square meal a day. Then there are people who have plenty but still do not eat healthy.
What do people really want? Health Peace Happiness; Or is it Gaudy show off of wealth, avarice, violence, quick gratification at the cost of the first three?
It is not as if knowledge was not there, guidelines were not there, scientists and doctors did not caution, warn and counsel about healthy lifestyle.
Why was no heed paid to all the warnings about unhealthy lifestyle?
Thirty years means a generation suffered. What were the roles of parents and grandparents in not shaping the future generations? What was the upbringing? What habits were cultivated in the youngsters by the elders? Or the parental advice was ignored as redundant and irrelevant?
There are persistent pollutants in the environment which are endocrine disruptors, but there also are makings of humans and warnings about them ringing loud.
There is one Sanskrit Saying: Vinashkale Vipareet Buddhi! – When it is time for annihilation the conscience is the first casualty!
