K Lalitha, the mother of Maala Parvathi, passed away this morning in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, at the age of 85. After receiving a diagnosis of liver cancer, she was admitted to the SUT Hospital where she has been receiving treatment ever since July 12th. Her three children Lakshmi Manu, Maala Parvathi, and S Kumaran are left behind. In Thiruvananthapuram’s Santhi Kavadam, her last rituals were performed this evening.
Maala Parvathi posted a picture of her mother along with the sad news on her Facebook page. She said, “Mom passed away at 5:48 am at SUT Hospital in Pattam, Thiruvananthapuram. She started receiving treatment on July 12. We first learned of the secondary tumours in the liver on July 12.” She gave them just 22 days to take care of their mother as she ended her tearful letter. For the uninitiated, K Lalitha was a retired professor who also served as the SAT Hospital’s head of the gynaecology division.
The late CV Thivikraman, who served as the Vayalar Ramavarma Trust secretary, was married to K Lalitha. Additionally a retired professor, K Lalitha oversaw the gynaecology division at the SAT Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram.
