DO THE RESULTS OF THE TOUPET FUNDOPLICATION OUTPERFORM THOSE OF THE NISSEN FUNDOPLICATION?
A new stud claim that, According to patient interviews, 88 percent (Nissen) and 90 percent (Toupet) of the patients, respectively, were happy with the surgical outcome. Dysphagia did not related with preoperative motility and was more common after a Nissen fundoplication than after a Toupet. The Toupet surgery was shown to be just as successful at controlling reflux as the Nissen method.
